| Abstract: | The role of mentorship in professional development has been well described in literature. Both mentors and mentees glean a multitude of benefits; additionally, individuals who encounter those mentorship program participants, including patients, support system staff, and employers, report improved performance and relationships due to mentoring. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, along with the Dietitians in Nutrition Support Dietetic Practice Group, offers free career mentoring services for members of these organizations. Individuals may consider participating in such programs to further professional development and expedite professional growth and opportunity. |
